NEWS: New York prosecutors to offer more lenient deals for self-reported fraud

NEW York’s top federal prosecutors are offering companies more generous deals if they self-report fraud, in a shift towards a more business-friendly approach to white-collar crime enforcement.

The policy from the Southern District of New York (SDNY) allows companies to avoid prosecution, fines and public disclosure agreements if they voluntarily report wrongdoing and cooperate with investigators. Prosecutors may still charge individuals involved in the misconduct.
