NEWS: Canada introduces law to create new ‘Financial Crimes Agency’

CANADA has moved to establish the ‘Financial Crimes Agency’ (FCA), a new law enforcement body to tackle financial crime, after criticism that existing agencies lack resources and coordination.

A bill to create the FCA passed its first reading in parliament this week. The governing Liberal Party introduced the legislation and is expected to move it forward quickly due to its majority.
