THE UK’s SFO (Serious Fraud Office) has appointed Nick Stevens as its new Head of Intelligence, the agency announced.
Emma Luxton, the SFO’s Director of Operations, said he will take up the role in “early” 2026.
“Nick has been a strategic leader at the SFO since 2020, working across a range of roles including in intelligence,” she said.
“He brings extensive knowledge and experience to this crucial role, having worked in law enforcement for over 30 years.
“His understanding of our work and commitment to tackling serious fraud and corruption will be invaluable as he leads our intelligence division into its next chapter.”
Mr Stevens currently serves as a Deputy Director at the SFO. Since joining the watchdog in 2020 he has held several senior positions, including Criminal Investigation advisor.
Prior to joining the SFO, Mr Stevens spent over 30 years working in the Metropolitan Police.
He held roles including ‘Head of Intelligence, Serious and Organised Crime Command’. He also served as Head of Economic Crime at the agency, where he oversaw more than 600 financial and fraud investigators targeting criminal finance.
The SFO has recently expanded as the UK looks to crack down on money laundering and economic crime. Last year, the government committed to giving the watchdog an extra £9.3 million in funding.
