ONE in five adults in the UK were scammed over the past year, according to a report by the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA).
The study, carried out with fraud prevention service Cifas and software firm Tietoevry, found that more than two in three adults encountered a scam during the year. Criminals took an average of £878.60 from each victim.
