LATEST: Three Mexican banks forced to close after US money laundering sanctions

THREE Mexican financial insutitions sanctioned by the U.S. for alleged money laundering linked to drug trafficking have now ceased operations.

Intercam Banco, CIBanco and brokerage firm Vector Casa de Bolsa have started winding down operations, according to the Mexican Banking Association (ABM).
