TRACEY McDermott was this week inducted into the AML Intelligence IAFCS ‘Roll of Honour’ to mark her distinguished career combating financial crime.
She is one of the UK’s leading AFC voices, with three decades of experience across the public and private sectors.
Speaking while receiving the award at ‘’International Anti-Financial Crime Summit 2025’ #IAFCS2025 in London on Wednesday she highlighted the role of protecting fincrime victims.
“It can feel really thankless tackling financial crime,” she said.

“It can feel like you’re turning the machine and doing the process. But do remember, that what we do matters.
“It disrupts crime, takes stuff away from the bad guys, and most of all, it protects and prevents the future victims.
She also praised her former colleagues in the sector.
“What has always been at the heart of fighting financial crime… is collaboration,” she said.
“I’d like to just take this opportunity to thank all of the friends, colleagues and partners I’ve worked with over many, many, many years. Who supported me, challenged me and inspired me to do more.”
