NEWS: Mexico’s CIBanco collapses after US money laundering sanctions

MEXICAN lender CIBanco has collapsed into liquidation after US authorities imposed sanctions over alleged money laundering.

The National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) revoked CIBanco’s banking license, starting the liquidation process. The Institute for the Protection of Bank Savings (IPAB) said its Board of Governors approved payments to depositors.
