NEWS: US banks cleared to collect TIN numbers from third-parties

U.S banks will now be allowed to collect Tax Identification Number (TIN) details from a third party, rather than from the bank’s customer.

The change was announced by FinCEN, the AML unit of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. It issued a new order allowing the measure.
