UK MP calls for significant increase in resources to tackle economic crime and warns law enforcement agencies are ‘significantly under-resourced’

The Co-Chair of the UK’s All Party Parliamentary Group on Fair Business Banking, Kevin Hollinrake MP, has called for a significant increase in resources to “expand and restructure the fight against economic crime.”

Speaking at the Backbench Business Debate in the House of Commons, Mr Hollinrake warned that the country’s law enforcement agencies were “significantly under-resourced” to deal with the estimated £290BN in economic crime per year.
