NEWS: US hits Russian crypto exchange Garantex with new sanctions

Garantex, a Moscow-based exchange, allegedly processed multiple illicit transactions.

THE US renewed sanctions on Russian cryptocurrency exchange Garantex, accusing it of helping ransomware groups and other cybercriminals launder dirty money.

The Treasury Department first sanctioned Garantex in 2022. It has now added the platform’s successor Grinex, three executives, and six affiliated companies in Russia and Kyrgyzstan to the list.
