PAXOS Trust is applying to create a national trust bank in the U.S., only days after reaching a landmark $48.5 million settlement with state officials over AML (anti-money laundering) issues.

The company, which is the cryptocurrency firm behind PayPal’s stablecoin, joins a raft of digital asset companies looking to gain a larger foothold in the traditional financial system.
