Senior Manager, Risk Partners – VISA, London UK

The Risk Business Partnering role ensures Visa Europe Risk has a conduit with business functions enabling the business to practice effective risk management and provide oversight of and assurance about its risk management processes. The role will also provide risk oversight of a major service provider to Visa Europe, the Visa Technology & Operations business.

  • The partner can guide and assist the business in promoting risk awareness within business functions.
  • Assist business risk champions to champion the process of risk management within the function, building commitment to and energy for the risk management process.
  • Assist and guide business functions in completing risk and control self-assessments (RCSA’s) and other scheduled risk programme activities.
  • Provide support and challenge as required to functional managers to help them routinely and accurately report progress using the GoRO system for the risks and response plans and to complete their actions in a timely manner.
  • Support functional managers design operational controls and risk mitigation plans
  • Complete ad-hoc risk management training to develop and maintain knowledge and awareness of risk best practices.
  • Provide risk oversight of globally provided risk services, ensuring an appropriate level of information sharing and challenge is provided.

What We Expect Of You, Day To Day

  • Perform risk oversight through independent risk assessments and controls monitoring across Europe.
  • Engage and support the VEL corporate functions to identify, assess, mitigate and manage their risks, Provide second line of defense (SLOD) oversight through constructive challenge to ensure First Line of Defence (FLOD) risk management is effectively embedded.
  • Develop and implement risk-based monitoring and compliance plans with robust reporting and tracking.
  • Support and provide oversight on the execution of Strategic Risk Assessments (SRA) and Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSA) across key functions. Assess and collate results, review findings and reporting feedback to senior management.
  • Engage and support the business functions to manage risks and controls in place, provide constructive challenge to ensure risk management and controls monitoring is effectively embedded. Use management information, metrics and analysis to inform business decision-making and to measure progress against goals and desirable outcomes.
  • Support business functions in the monitoring, management, and enhancement of controls including setting standards, driving management oversight, and testing of controls by the business.
  • Provide constructive challenge to business functions to ensure First Line of Defence (FLOD) risk management is effectively embedded.
  • Establish and produce management reporting related to the Risk Register and business functions. Provide timely and effective management information and analysis to help inform key business and risk decisions.
  • Utilising the above provision of risk oversight of globally provided services with emphasis on the business impacts to Visa Europe including advice, review, and challenge of management of risks, supplier management and review of committee and board papers to ensure risks are reported effectively.
  • Contribute to embedding a risk culture that that promotes transparency, accountability, supports the delivery of sustainable business growth and protects the Visa brand.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

What we’re after…

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems or Privacy/Data Protection related subject
  • Privacy, Risk, Compliance and/or Audit experience preferred
  • Experience of working with business to support them in achieving their risk management objectives.
  • Able to build sustainable relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Experience of performing control testing and risk assessments
  • Positive attitude, high level of integrity and intellectual curiosity
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills along
  • Strong risk and controls mindset
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English, strong communications, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, comfortable in challenging the status quo, and undertaking analysis to better understand business issues and to propose solutions
