Senior Compliance Officer, Fraud Management

We are looking for a Senior Compliance Officer to join our Second Line Fraud team. The Second Line Fraud team forms part of the Bank’s Group Compliance function, which provides independent oversight of fraud risk management and governance to assist the executive management promote a strong compliance and risk management culture within the Bank. The team has both governance and advisory responsibilities and are accountable for driving a structured and consistent approach to managing fraud across a wide variety of Fraud risk types.

By joining Danske Bank Group Compliance, you will become part of a growing international team of currently over 500 employees working to ensure integrity across the Bank’s participation in financial markets and in society.

Together with the team, you will be working out of one of our European offices.

Responsibilities and tasks Fraud Financial Crime Compliance

As Senior Compliance Officer, you will be supporting the global fraud advisory across the bank, this includes proactively identifying any emerging fraud threats and gaps and working with business units to support remediation activities. In addition to guiding fraud management approaches across the Group, there will be responsibilities for driving a strong governance framework for fraud across the bank.

Your tasks will include:

  • Provide fraud management advice to teams across the group. This should be based on solid technical knowledge of retail financial services products and retail banking regulatory compliance within a recognised financial services institution.
  • Support all areas of Danske Bank in advising how to operate within risk tolerance levels for Fraud.
  • Work closely with compliance and legal teams to monitor the existing and future regulatory trends across the countries in which Danske bank operates (plus the wider fraud regulatory world).
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to monitor existing and future fraud and regulatory trends across the countries in which Danske Bank operates.
  • Responsible for horizon scanning of new fraud threats in financial services regulation, assessing the impact of such on the business and implementing change where necessary while identifying new technology solutions to supplement existing fraud capabilities.
  • Work closely with first line fraud and financial crime teams across the bank to ensure clarity in delivery of frameworks and instructions and to ensure ongoing understanding of the business’ products & services, and associated fraud risks.
  • Guiding and reviewing fraud risk assessments across the bank. Monitoring bank fraud risk exposure and ensuring these risks are being managed proactively within the business units in line with operational risk frameworks.
  • Proactively drive the development of the independent second line view of the Fraud risk profile across the whole of Danske Bank Group through providing review and challenge of first line fraud risk management activities and outputs and reviewing key fraud management performance.
  • Lead by example as a team player who listens and thrives on collaborating with diversely talented team members.

We are looking for someone with good banking business understanding and are knowledgeable within fraud risk area. You are a structured and solution-oriented individual who enjoys delivering results and continuous improvements. You enjoy working within fraud management and engage with business stakeholders on all levels.

Furthermore, we expect you to have a proactive risk-based approach to problem solving as well as, having the ability to take ownership, deliver quality work, and meet deadlines in a growing environment. To succeed in this role, we expect you to have experience in stakeholder management, fraud control and fraud mitigation. For the right candidate there will be plenty of opportunities to develop and prove yourself over the coming years.

We imagine that you have:

  • 5+ years’ experience working within the financial services sector, the majority in compliance, fraud, or risk management functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field such as Business, Risk Management, Financial Crime, Economics or Law or equivalent.
  • Must have significant experience managing card fraud, payment fraud, and lending fraud for a full suite of retail products such as personal and business checking accounts, personal and corporate credit cards, and retail and corporate lending.
  • Expertise in retail banking fraud risk types, exposure assessment, regulations (i.e. PSD2, CRM), and/or mitigation strategies related to payments and cards.
  • Knowledge of best in class technologies and services that can deliver a strong prevention, detection and case management framework.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
