Compliance Analyst

This role is deemed as a Controlled Function role under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

As a Barclays Compliance Analyst within Barclaycard International Payments you will support the Risk and Compliance team to cover principal areas of responsibility, regulatory compliance, AML/ financial crime and all other risks. You will be the second line of oversight for the risk appetite from the Barclays Group and the completion of monitoring actions under the annual compliance plan. You’ll be providing guidance and support on matters related to Irish regulatory requirements.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be managing the regulatory compliance correspondence records and assisting the Risk & Compliance team in their second line tasks
  • Helping with new product reviews, compliance monitoring activities, risk assessment processes, creation of MI packs for governance reporting and regulatory change
  • Providing assurance by reviewing and challenging Operational Rigour activities related to regulatory compliance and financial crime and reporting it to the Head of Compliance & Risk
  • Notifying and escalating any regulatory compliance issues or breaches
  • Assisting with the management of the statutory and regulatory duties of the Risk & Compliance Team in relation to anti-money laundering and sanctions processes & procedures
  • Assisting with the annual review of financial crime, AML, Anti Bribery and Corruption – ABC, introducers, sanctions and policies
  • Supporting the team in executing key milestones of the annual Compliance Plan and in core projects and initiatives that drive overall success
  • Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience or interest in managing risk and compliance in a regulated environment
  • An understanding of financial crime regulatory environment and ability to translate into practical frameworks for individual businesses
  • Practical experience of using analytics to solve complex business problems and fluency on MS Office products
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills to work with and build long-term trusted relationships with a wide network of colleagues and external parties

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Knowledge of payment acceptance and corporate card issuing
  • Testing experience
  • Ability to recognise, anticipate, and suggest solutions to issues and problems in a timely manner
  • Analytical mind-set
