INSIGHT: How Germany plans to restore its FinCrime reputation following poor report card from FATF inspectors

Former FATF President Marcus Pleyer has revealed Germany’s blueprint to restore its AML and FinCrime reputation in the wake of a very mixed report from the global FinCrime watchdog.

Dr Pleyer – a senior official in the German finance department – described how Germany plans to create a super agency to co-ordinate the country’s AML and AFC efforts. He described the proposal as an “excellent ambitious national project.”
