UK Treasury Committee launches inquiry into role of crypto-assets as Committee Chair reveals there are ‘significant concerns’ around their use in money laundering

The UK Treasury Committee has launched an inquiry into the role of crypto-assets in the UK, which aims to highlight the opportunities and risks they pose to the country. 

As part of the inquiry, the Committee has requested written evidence submissions on whether crypto would be likely to replace traditional currencies, opportunities and risks involved in their use and their impact on social inclusion.
