Head of German Central Bank Jens Weidmann steps down after decade spent at the helm

The President of Germany’s Central Bank, Jens Weidmann has announced he will be stepping down from his post by the end of the year, after spending more than 10 years at the helm.

Mr Weidmann will step down from his post on December 31, and said he would be resigning for “personal reasons” from the Bundesbank.
