EU’s data protection agency warns of lack of clarity in bloc’s new AML plans; calls for legislators to be more specific

The agency responsible for safeguarding data in the European Union remains cautious about several aspects of the bloc’s anti-money laundering strategy.

Despite being broadly supportive of the Commission’s plans for a centralised AML rulebook and supervisor, the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) needs clarification in multiple areas to move forward with complete confidence.
