‘All responsibility for the chaos’ – German finance minister questioned over AML record just days from an election that could make him Chancellor

The man on course to replace Angela Merkel as Germany’s next Chancellor faced a grilling this week over his anti-money laundering record.

In a questioning session Monday, current Vice-Chancellor and Minister for Finance Olaf Schulz was criticised by multiple German Bundestag representatives for his oversight of the national Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
