MALTA: 24 companies renounce island’s licences following FATF’s grey listing; opposition politician warns of ‘further instability’

Over twenty companies have abandoned their Maltese licences in the wake of the country’s ‘grey listing’ by the Financial Action Task Force in June. 

Representatives from the Maltese Nationalist Party in a press conference revealed that 24 companies had renounced their operating licences in Malta, resulting in growing uncertainty in the country’s financial services sector.
