UK RUSI Group criticises FATF for current ‘behind closed doors’ procedures and calls for Ombudsperson to be introduced

The UK’s Royal United Services Institute, the country’s oldest think-tank on defence and security, has issued comment on FATF’s unintended consequences study.

Earlier this year, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), launched a new project to “study and mitigate the unintended consequences stemming from the incorrect implementation (purposefully or otherwise) of its anti-financial crime standards”.
